I might add that even if the produce is local, but not organic, it is still better than buying imported fruits and veggies. Preservative additives are generally not added to local produce and it is still fresher and healthier in the long run. Agreed. Unfortunately there are areas of the country that have lost pretty much all of their local small farms. Hopefully people will return to growing backyard gardens to supplement their food supply.
